Sarasota County Organizations Active In Disaster (SCOAD)
After Hurricane Charley hit areas close to us many different organizations the
Sarasota County Government.  As a result of our government and other local
agencies involvement Sarasota COAD was formed to better help prepare our
county to better respond in the event of a disaster in our area or surrounding
area that we could assist them with.

We were put in contact with Marion Sortore for someone who is locally
involved with disaster response.  She encouraged us to get involved with
SCOAD.  We attended our first meeting and were heartily welcomed and
invited to continue our involvement.  We currently are voting members.
