Haiti Earthquake Trip 3 2010
Our ministry brought in a team between my second and third trip and my third
trip was scheduled before I left during my second trip. I was to bring in more
medical personnel and continue with bringing in supplies as requested by Seige. I
had hoped to spend some time in Haiti, but that didn’t work out!
A couple of the medical personnel cancelled at the last minute and one wasn’t able
to get her passport in time so I ended up going in with Wilma, a nurse from our
church and Jon, a student at the Bowery Mission in NYC that we have been
working with over the past few years. They were both a blessing to all that they
came in contact with.
Wilma was able to spend some time helping at the hospital in Port-au-Prince as
well as help Winnie around CC tent city. She also helped us do some work around
the home in the DR. She spent most of her time in Haiti.
Jon helped around the house before going to Haiti for a few days and helping
around the tent city. He then traveled back with me on one of our supply runs
and helped at the home again before making our final run into Haiti before
returning home.
God continues to grow the camp and the people and things are progressing quite
well. We were able to meet with Pastor Steve from CC Boston In The City, one of
two churches that supports CC Port-au-Prince from the US. Steve is going to be
handling the logistics of teams going in from the US and will be the main contact
between the US and Seige. Please make sure you contact him if you have any
desire to bring any team into Haiti.
It was a blessed time for us over the past month or so. We’ll never know this side
of heaven just how all that we did will affect eternity; we pray that it will be a
success in God’s economy!
Continue to keep the people of Haiti and CC Port-au-Prince in your prayers as
they continue to minister to the those around them who’ve been affected by this
disaster.
Only God knows what our involvement will be going forward. There is still a lot to
be done and we feel that we’ve done well in our calling as first responders during
this time of crisis.
Patrick and Barb are in Tallahassee going through rehab and Patrick will soon be
asking for help and giving us direction on his end. We have offered to help in any
way we can in the future as God directs and will continue to pray and stay in touch
with Seige and do all we can whether we are with them or here in the states. I
pray we’ll continue to help and be able to return soon, but only as God dictates.
We currently have a trip planned for March for medical personnel. If you are in
the medical field and can serve alongside of us, please let us know.
Keep praying!!
